EFWA is a Minneapolis-based design studio specializing in brand and visual identity. Recent work includes Hippocrates Cafe, Algirhythm, and Nameberry.

We have worked with global brands and agencies like Microsoft, Rent the Runway and IPG and small businesses and institutions like Hippocrates Cafe and Algirhythm.

We believe a strong identity starts with understanding what makes a client distinct, so we listen closely and often work with clients for many years. Our principles are clarity, simplicity, and identities built to last and easy to live with.

A background in engineering has naturally extended our work into websites and digital tools, so an identity can go from first sketch to live product without a handoff.

The studio’s roots go back to 2006, as Woodward Associates and later Exactly Factory, before becoming EFWA. After many years in New York, the studio is now based in Minneapolis. Founder Dan Woodward remains hands-on in every project. We have chosen to stay small, and we collaborate with writers, photographers, and other specialists as each project requires.
